Synopsis: Sorority star Elle Woods doesn't take "no" for an answer. So when her boyfriend dumps her for someone more "serious," Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.
NYTHEATREREVIEWS.COM:
I saw it on MTV with the rest of the country. Full of energy. A lot of fun. Teenage girls will love it. Teenage boys will not.
NEW YORK TIMES: "This high-energy, empty-calories and expensive-looking hymn to the glories of girlishness, based on the 2001 film of the same title, approximates the experience of eating a jumbo box of Gummi Bears in one sitting. This may be common fare for the show’s apparent target audience — female ’tweens and teenagers who still believe in Barbie. But unless you’re used to such a diet, you wind up feeling jittery, glazed and determined to swear off sweets for at least a month. " Read the whole review HERE.
NEW YORK POST: "A pleasant if noisy night out - but for those who have seen the movie, the wraith of Witherspoon hovers dangerously close." Read the whole review HERE.
NEWSDAY: "But she and the musical are peppy and bright and, though not a smidge more shocking than its heroine's special shade of pink, the show is what Elle's sorority pals might also describe as, "Like senior year but funner."" Read the whole review HERE.
NEW YORK SUN: "To quote from the show's intended demographic, its not gr8 but itll make you LOL. IMHO, obvs." Read the whole review HERE.
VARIETY: "It may not be bulging with subtext or boast a score for the ages, but this pinksapoppin funhouse delivers exactly what it promises." Read the whole review HERE.
THEATERMANIA: "Omigod, you guys. For better or worse, Legally Blonde is a hit! " Read the whole review HERE.
TIME OUT NY: " If only director Jerry Mitchell and his other creative partners had found as many gradations of comedy and romance for this aggressively cute and brutally corporate entertainment machine, which makes a fast, hard grab for the teen-girl demographic." Read the whole review HERE.
